The 22 Songs that Formed Part of Walker Hayes’ “90’s Country”

If you’re looking for a list of songs of the ‘90s, Walker Hayes offers you a big help. In his latest single “90’s Country,” the 38-year-old country music singer did not only give his fans a song to listen to. Also, he provided them a reference to some of the famous hits that decade. These songs are Hayes’ favorite. In this song, Hayes did not merely mention titles of great songs but likewise tells a love story through them. The single features 22 songs but Hayes claimed there could have more in it.

In an interview with CMT, Hayes says,

“90’s Country” is my tribute to the musical time period that moved me the most. I listened to ’90s country with my mother in the car driving to the beach, with my father on the Waffle House jukebox, and with my brother in his truck driving to baseball games. These songs are very nostalgic.”

Hayes began co-writing the song with Gabby Mooney two years ago. Producer and co-writer Shane McAnally also contributed to the song’s composition. According to the “Craig” singer, they spent about six hours together only to get two lines. They decided to select those songs that would help in weaving a story.
