At this point, Willie Nelson seems to have surmounted the ability to surprise people. At the age of ninety, he marks the release of his first-ever full album of bluegrass music and now sits atop our top Bluegrass Albums for October 2023.

The album Bluegrass contains twelve reinterpretations of songs from Nelson’s back catalog – such as “Man With the Blues,” “Good Hearted Woman,” and “On The Road Again” – and is joined by some of the best in the business.

Our all-time bluegrass favorites, such as Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway’s City of Gold, Old Crow Medicine Show’s Jubilee, and Canyon Rangers’ Morning Shift, are also on the list. Meanwhile, Authentic Unlimited enters the list with their self-titled bluegrass album and Gospel Sessions, Vol. 1. Authentic Unlimited has rapidly soared into the bluegrass charts.

In fact, they recently earned quite a few nominations during the 2023 for International Bluegrass Music Association. It’s no surprise as the group features polished harmonies and lively flair that fans thoroughly enjoy.
