A GOOD GREAT HOWDY TO Y’ALL!

“…today we’re going to do a Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On by the great Jerry Lee Lewis!”

Today I would gladly want to present you with another one of ‘em Rock n’Roll/Rockabilly Classics.

Yessiree, today we’re going to do a Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On by the great Jerry Lee Lewis!

But before we do, allow me to give few a few little bits about this great-fun of a Rock n’ Roll/Rockabilly Classic…

The song was first recorded by Big Maybelle though the best-known version is the 1957 Rock n’ Roll/Rockabilly version by Jerry Lee Lewis.

Jerry Lewis has been using his version of this song for his stage acts since February 1957 and recorded it under Sun Records.

“Jerry Lee began to show that in this newly emerging genre called rock ‘n’ roll, not everybody was going to stand there with a guitar…”

Jerry altered the piano parts to its “whole lotta shakin’ propulsive boogie groove.” Combined with J.M. Van Eaton’s energetic drumming style and “muted” guitar playing by Roland Jane, it TRULY SHAKES!

“I knew it was a hit when I cut it,” Lewis later stated.

The record reached No. 3 on the Billboard Pop Chart, Billboard R&B Charts and No. 1 on the Country Charts after being released as Sun 267. It also hit No. 8 in the UK!

“Jerry Lee began to show that in this new emerging genre called rock ‘n’ roll, not everybody was going to stand there with a guitar,”as noted by Writer Robert Gordon.

Enough of the good stuff for now and let us have some of this GREAT STUFF!

May y’all be Safe and Well.

This is Our Kind Of Country and

“MAY THE LORD GOD ALMIGHTY BLESS US ALL AND SET US FREE!”
