Rascal Flatts may have built their legacy on heartfelt country anthems. Still, their latest collaboration proves they’re not afraid to shake things up. The iconic trio has teamed up with pop sensations the Jonas Brothers for “I Dare You,” a soaring ballad about love, hesitation, and second chances.

Released on January 31, the song blends Rascal Flatts’ signature harmonies with the polished pop stylings of Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas. It’s an unexpected pairing that delivers a powerful, emotionally charged anthem.

A Ballad That Pushes Past Heartbreak

From the first verse, Gary LeVox’s unmistakable voice sets the tone, delivering lyrics about wanting to hold onto love despite lingering fears. Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney join in as the chorus builds, their harmonies weaving seamlessly with the Jonas Brothers’ smooth vocals.

The second verse brings the two groups together, creating a rich, layered sound that pushes the song’s message of hope and perseverance. It’s a plea to move beyond heartbreak and take a leap of faith in love—one that feels right at home in both Rascal Flatts’ and the Jonas Brothers’ catalogs.

Nick Jonas penned “I Dare You” alongside Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, Dewain Whitmore Jr., and Tommy English, as Rolling Stone details . The song perfectly balances country storytelling and modern pop production. Its anthemic chorus and uplifting message make it a natural fit for both groups and appeal to fans across genres.

A Collaboration Years in the Making

For Rascal Flatts, this collaboration is more than a one-off single—it marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

“We’re so excited to kick off this next chapter of Rascal Flatts with this single,” DeMarcus said. “Working with Kevin, Joe, and Nick is such a blast—they’re class acts. I think this song fits perfectly into our catalog while also showing off something new and exciting, and we can’t wait to share it with our fans on the road!”

The timing couldn’t be better, as the band is gearing up to tour for their Life Is a Highway 25th Anniversary Tour.

A Long-Awaited Return to the Stage

After announcing their farewell tour in 2020, Rascal Flatts unexpectedly took a step back when the pandemic put the entire live music industry on pause. But now, after years of reflection and a renewed appreciation for their journey, the trio is ready to celebrate 25 years of music with the fans who’ve been there every step of the way.

“In 2020, we announced the farewell tour after being on the road extensively for 20 years. To put it simply, we needed a break,” the band shared in a statement. “Then pandemic hit, and our plans came to a screeching halt, like the rest of the world. Since then, we’ve been able to revisit our unique and special experience as a band, and we’re ready to get out on the road again.”

They continued: “It’s hard to believe that next year will be the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts, and that felt like the perfect time to get back in front of the fans who have given us so much.”

The Life Is a Highway Tour, set for 2025, will feature special guests Lauren Alaina and Chris Lane, bringing together a mix of country’s most beloved voices. The tour’s excitement is already building, with fans eager to hear the group’s classic hits and their latest collaboration performed live.
