With numerous achievements attached to Texas country singer Lukas Nelson’s name, collaborating with American musician Sierra Ferrell to cover one of Adele’s greatest hits, ”Someone Like You,” was just another proof of Nelson’s unpredictable venture in the music industry.

Together with his band Promise of the Real, Lukas Nelson roams around between rock and country genres. The American singer’s reedy, strong vocals are prominent in the band’s song hits like “Forget About Georgia,” “Find Yourself,” and “Just Outside of Austin.” The band’s popularity in the mid-2010s put them into the big leagues debuting Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real album on the No. 2 at the US Billboard Country Charts in 2017.

Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell’s Cover of “Someone Like You” by Adele

You can always count on Adele to sing unforgettable heartbreak songs. Surprising fan bases from both the country and gypsy jazz community, Nelson and Ferrell leveled it up by performing their own rendition of “Someone Like You” on May 28 at DelFest in Cumberland, Maryland. Women of Americana and The Travelin’ McCourys posted the record on Instagram, delighting followers with a “cover we didn’t know we needed.”

The post garnered over 25,000 likes with nothing but positive comments from fans. User @amandabaseke53 said: “Stay you Lukas, whatever you choose. Keep it real as always. You and Sierra sound beautiful! And that song, well, if finding needs to be found, I’m right here!” Another fan @amanda.liese couldn’t hide her excitement saying: “I’m gonna need @lukasnelsonofficial & @sierraelizabethferrell to officially record a duet together.” @milestayl also commented: “Didn’t know I needed this so badly.”

With the guitar on Nelson’s back and Ferrell’s cowboy boots and hats, the duo channeled their country roots to sing a powerful vocal performance of Adele’s hit. Their irresistible charm and unique delivery of the song is an exceptional display of their distinct musicality.

Further pushing the Adele going country agenda, Nelson shared a post on his Instagram with The Travelin’ McCourys, saying: “Adele, this is Lukas Nelson and The Travelin’ McCourys, and you’re going country whether you like it or not. Let’s hit it.” Together, they sang a lively performance wearing all smiles from the members.

Red Rocker Sammy Hagar joined the party in the comment section. “We are on the same page, my brother. I shaved my face clean, and I’ve been sporting that short crap for a while now what up a little brother.”

One fan demanded more thrilling fun content such as this. @chellsmyth said, “The stage version you played last night, including Sierra Ferrell was mind-blowingly wonderful, just spectacular! The Travelin’ McCourys, Lukas Nelson, and Sierra Ferrell is a triple match made in heaven. More of this please!”

To make Lukas Nelson’s duet with Sierra Ferrel more special, he also posted a glimpse of the rehearsal with POTR using a pocket-sized microphone.
