KT Smith isn’t pulling any punches about her past with Morgan Wallen, and she’s not sugarcoating the heartbreak either.

The influencer, who shares a son named Indigo with the chart-topping country star, recently opened up on Bunnie XO‘s D𝐮mb Blonde podcast and peeled back the curtain on what life was really like during her rollercoaster relationship with Wallen. They were young, they were in love, and they were doing the best they could to navigate the chaos that came with fame, fans, and everything in between. But it wasn’t all red carpets and rhinestones. According to KT, it was also full of late-night messages from girls, ugly tears in parking lots, and a whole lot of looking the other way.

Back in 2017, Morgan Wallen was just starting to break through when he joined Florida Georgia Line on tour, and KT came along for the ride. It wasn’t long into that journey that she says she caught Morgan with another woman right in the parking lot before a show. And that wasn’t the only time. But instead of walking away, she stayed. Because, as wild as it may sound, she says she didn’t blame him.

“Girls throwing themselves at you, I didn’t blame him,” KT explained. “I don’t know what it’s like to be in that position. I didn’t know how hard it would be to say no to that much temptation when you’re getting hit with it all at once.”

KT admitted she threw the engagement ring, the same $75 Swarovski stunner Morgan gave her in a JCPenney parking lot, but she kept coming back because, in her words, she thought he hung the moon and the stars. She didn’t care about the price tag on the ring or the fancy proposal. She was in it for the real thing, or at least what she believed it could be.

That real thing was tested time and again as the messages from other women kept rolling in. KT says she was constantly hit with DMs about what Morgan was allegedly doing, but she didn’t confront him right away. Eventually, she asked another wife who had experience in the spotlight what she should do and the advice was clear, ask for proof. Once she did, it didn’t take long for the receipts to show up. Texts, messages, all of it. Still, she stayed a little longer. Maybe it was love, maybe it was pressure, or maybe it was just believing that the man she loved would eventually grow out of that phase.

“He cried every time. Like, sobbing, full-blown breakdowns,” she said. “I felt stuck. Everyone around me was saying he’d settle down eventually.”

And while things did finally end between them, KT isn’t holding any grudges. In fact, she says she has more respect for Morgan now than ever before. “He’s grown as a person,” she shared. “I respect him more now than I ever have. He’s a great dad and we co-parent well.”

That might be the most impressive part of this whole story. Despite everything, fame, cheating, heartbreak, and divorce, these two have managed to put their son first. KT made it clear that Morgan’s not just a star in the music world. He’s also a rock-solid father who keeps his private life exactly that, and she supports it completely.

Their love story might not have had a fairy tale ending, but it was real, messy, and very human. And maybe that’s why it resonates. Because behind the stage lights and sold-out tours, there’s a history that started in a JCPenney parking lot with a promise and a $75 ring.

In her words, “It wasn’t with me but that’s okay.” And that kind of peace, that kind of honesty, is just about as country as it gets.
