The mega-collaborative we’ve all been waiting for is finally out! HARDY’s “Hometown Boys,” featuring heavy hitter Dierks Bentley alongside up-and-coming country music singer Matt Stell, was released earlier this month.

This is the very first taste of HARDY‘s highly anticipated second installment for his revolutionary project, HiXTAPE. But this is actually not HARDY and Bentley’s first collaboration. The two recently joined forces on Bentley’s cool bar anthem, “Beers On Me.”

Now they’ve come together once again with Stell – giving us a glimpse of what’s to hopefully come out of HiXTAPE Vol. 2, which will be featuring 33 artists joining forces together over 14 tracks, creating music that all country fans can relate to. The star-studded guest list includes Jon Pardi, Lee Brice, Morgan Wallen, Scotty McCreery, Ronnie Dunn, Rhett Atkins, among others.

A single track will be released each Friday until December 10.

About The Song

Written by Jordan Schmidt, Ashley Gorley, and HARDY himself, “Hometown Boys” is an ode to friendships that will last a lifetime. It tells the tale of childhood friends who may now all be grown up and apparently moved on from their small-town life, but their unspeakable bond will always be there. They hold each other’s deepest secrets, stuck by each other’s side through the years, and they can always count on each other.

Just like most of HARDY songs, this heartwarming ballad is accompanied by the perfect blend of hometown pride and nostalgia. It showcases HARDY’s signature electric rock n roll combined with seamless country storytelling. Stell takes the first verse and chorus, followed by Bentley as they recollect all the great memories they had in their own small town and celebrate good ol’ friends. HARDY closed it out, belting out the final bridge and chorus.
