Meeting the in-laws for the first time is awkward enough, but Caroline Bryan’s introduction to Luke Bryan’s mom came with a full-on bathroom surprise that most folks would never forget.

But none of that prepared Caroline for what happened when she met Luke’s mama, LeClaire Bryan.
While sharing a hilarious memory on the Got It From My Momma podcast at CMA Fest, Caroline told the story of the very first time she went home with Luke to meet his family. It was supposed to be a sweet, small-town visit. What she got instead was a glimpse into what life in the Bryan family really looks like, and it started with a bathroom encounter she’ll never forget.

“I’m like, ‘Hey,’ this is the first time I’ve hung out with her,” Caroline recalled. “She starts talking and then she proceeds to sit on the toilet and tinkle. I was like, ‘What do I do? What do I do?'”
Now, some might have been horrified. But LeClaire had no shame. She defended her unexpected bathroom visit with the most LeClaire logic ever. “We probably had one bathroom so if you gotta go, you gotta go.”
