2019 ACM Awards: Ashley McBryde, Luke Combs, and LANCO Win New Artist Honors

The first three 2019 ACM Awards winners have officially been announced! Ashley McBryde, Luke Combs, and LANCO have been named as early winners in the awards show. They are taking home the respective trophies for New Female Vocalist, New Male Vocalist, and New Group/Duo respectively.

The artists were informed about their win over the weekend. Each one received a phone call from Carrie Underwood to reveal the good news and wish of congratulations.

“Holy shit, thank you! Thanks for calling!” says McBryde in a video of the moment.

This marks the first ACM win for all three artists.

Combs got the phone call from Underwood while he was in the middle of making breakfast. He detailed the experience on a Facebook post.

“Got some pretty awesome news yesterday while I was making my toaster strudel… Thanks for the call, Carrie Underwood! This is a dream come true and I’m so thankful for all of you. Can’t wait for the ACM – Academy of Country Music Awards!”

Combs and LANCO were previously nominated for the same awards at last year’s event.

2019 ACM Awards

The Academy of Country Music Awards honors the country musicians that have impacted the genre and the industry as a whole in the previous year.

The ACM Awards will be hosted by Reba McEntire, whose album Stronger Than the Truth will drop two days earlier on the 5th of April, for the second time in a row. It will be aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 at 8 PM ET on CBS.

Performers on the telecast include George Strait, Brothers Osborne, Brandi Carlile, Eric Church, and Miranda Lambert. Tickets to experience all the action live are on sale through AXS while VIP packages are available through CID Entertainment.
