About The Song

This song tells the tale of a guy who falls in love with a girl named Darlene. He confronted Darlene and asked her to go with him as he promised her to give everything and anything. It’s written by Mike Geiger, Ricky Ray, and Woody Mullis and recorded by T. Graham Brown. It was released in May 1988 as the first single of his album Come as You Were.

After its release, the catchy and well-made single instantly climbed its way to the top of the US Hot Country songs and stayed on the chart for another fourteen weeks, making it one of the best pieces of T. Graham Brown songs

This song is the third and last single that reached the top spot of the US Billboard chart. His other songs that make it to the top are Hell and High Water and Don’t Go to Strangers in 1986while eight more other songs make it to the top 10 of the chart.
