Country power couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood said they “are canceling everything and testing and quarantining for two weeks” after possible COVID-19 exposure.
Garth Brooks‘ team posted the news to social media Thursday night, stating that someone from the couple’s team tested positive for the virus.
Since the start of the lockdown in mid-March last year, Brooks and Trisha Yearwood keep fans entertained with virtual shows. They performed together in a Facebook Live concert, which gathered over 5.2 million viewers within just a few hours that it has repetitively crashed the site.
Due to their virtual concert’s success, the talented couple landed on a CBS special show, called “Garth & Trisha Live!” – where they performed live from Studio G, the couple’s home recording studio. In addition to that, Brooks and Yearwood also teamed up at the Grand Ole Opry, performing with no one in the audience for a streaming event.
However, in July 2020, Brooks and Yearwood canceled their special Facebook concert “out of an abundance of caution” after a member of their teams was likely exposed to COVID-19. Shortly after, Brooks revealed that his daughter, Allie Colleen, tested positive too. The 24-year-old up-and-coming artist had a mild case of the disease and has quickly recovered, said Brooks.
Brooks and Yearwood have also been hosting their own COVID-19 relief event.
