The annual Farm Aid is back and here’s everything that you need to know about its installment this year!

A Movement

Aside from becoming a country music star, Willie Nelson has annually conducted his benefit concert that targets to help farmworkers. Tracking its origin since September 1985,  Nelson, together with co-founders John Mellencamp and Neil Young, hoped to help farmers who are in danger of losing their farms because of mortgage debt.

Nelson and his colleagues never imagined that a concert held at the University of Illinois’ Memorial Stadium would go on over decades and will continue on helping farmers. He thought it will be a one-time event that will resolve every issue. Fast forward 35 years later, Farm Aid has now become an annual occasion.

Get Ready for Farm Aid 2020!

Thousand of country fans would always flock into a Farm Aid venue. The most recent one was conducted in Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin. Understandably, that wouldn’t be the case this year. But since the show must go on, country music fans and lovers would have to make do in enjoying the festive atmosphere of the annual Farm Aid concert online.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, “Farm Aid 2020 On The Road,” can be streamed on September 26. Given the current crisis, Willie Nelson had much more reason to push on this year’s Farm Aid concert. The country star said that Farm Aid 2020 presents a chance for us to give back to the farmers who tirelessly worked to produced good food and contribute to our well-being. It also allows for a wider scope of audiences as the show can be watched by families while in the comfort of their homes.

The country music festival will be aired from 8-11 p.m. EDT on farmaid.org. This year’s list of performances will highlight stories from farmers and their families across the country. It will also be a night filled with music as this year’s star-studded line-up of artists will serenade you while you’re at home.
