Since 2016, Wyonna Judd has not released a single project of her own. But the wait is finally over as Judd will be releasing her first EP this spring!

Set to be released on October 30 this year, “Recollections” will be featuring four cover songs from Judd. Cactus Moser, Judd’s husband, helped produce her EP since signing with Anti-Records in early 2019.  The EP would be featuring classics like John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery, “Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” Slim Harpo’s “King Bee,” and many more.

No Tour, No Problem!

More than just releasing another masterpiece, Judd found the oil to keep her artistic engine working despite the current situations. Long tours, large concerts, and the bright lights have seemed to be just a reminder of the past for all of us. We spent more time than ever in our houses than walking on the buzzing streets or rushing to your next meeting. And for Wyonna Judd, the time she spent at home have been most rewarding.

Like everybody else, Judd has been stuck in her Nashville home. Wyonna Judd saw this time as an opportunity for her to learn a lot and be productive. Without her busy schedule, all that is left for Judd to do is polish her talent which she immediately puts to use by recording her newest EP “Recollections.”

Here are the tracks to expect from Judd’s newest EP “Recollections.”

  1. “I Hear You Knocking” (Fats Domino)

Originally written by Dave Bartholomew, the rhythm and blues style that the song brought became the main proponent of the Fats Domino in the early ‘50s.

2. “King Bee” (Slim Harpo)

“King Bee” was originally written and recorded by Slim Harpo in 1957. Through out the years, the song has been covered by several other artists and was awarded in 2008 with the Grammy Hall of Fame.

3.“Feeling Good” (Nina Simone)

Prior to Nina Simone’s version, English composers Anthony Newly and Leslie Bricusse for the musical “The Roar of the Greaspaint” first wrote “Feeling Good.” It was later on recorded by  Nina Simone for her 1965 album “I Put a Spell On You.”

4. “Angel from Montgomery (John Prine)

Originally written by the late John Prine, “Angel from Montgomery” focuses on a middle age woman who is tired of everything and just wishes for an angel to come take everything away from her.

5. “Ramble on Roses” (Grateful Dead)

Written by the late Robert Hunter, Judd’s cover of “Rumble Roses is one you definitely don’t want to miss. This slow-rolling tune that was packed by the imagery of pop-culture references.
