Country sensation Blake Shelton thought his time with country music was over, but that was until he got “God’s Country.”

Blake Shelton’s Career Path in the Digital Age

He considers his 14th number 1 single to be the biggest record that he ever had, and it’s a gift, especially at this stage of his career.

“I mean, it certainly looks like it could be. And for it to be 18, 19 years now, into my career, and to just now be having that record, I never would have dreamed. I literally thought those days and those types of records for me were 10 years ago, five years ago, and everybody has their moment and then it’s over.”

With this, he never expected his career could turn its way, and he is very thankful about how it all turned out in the end. In fact, he thinks he appreciates it better now than if he would have had it years ago.

“I think I appreciate something like this now more than I ever would have in the past, because like I said, I kind of felt like my window of time and awards shows and stuff had passed. To have this song, this late in the game, it’s just such a gift. I’m having a blast with it.”

But at this, Shelton says that he may never release another full album. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Tonight, the country star shared his reluctance about releasing another full record.

“I don’t want to put out an album. I really don’t. I’m sure that at some point my record company people are going to pressure me into it, but as of now, I’m not putting out an album this year. I know that.”

But don’t fret Shelton fans! There’s more music coming along!

“I’ll be just as happy to release just another single. I do [have more songs] and I’ve got other stuff that I’m pumped about, but when I think about an album right now I’m like, ‘Do people care about them anymore?’ I don’t know. But I’m having a blast just releasing singles. Maybe I’ll do that from now on.”
