The 20th century is believed by many to be the most progressive era. The rise of Drag Culture made it possible for these amazing drag queens to be known all over the world. They do lip syncs on a daily basis, so it would not be shocking to see these queens bring the house down with their performance of “Jolene.”

Jolene” is a timeless classic recorded by one of country music’s legendary singer, Dolly Parton. It was performed by a lot of talented artists such as Olivia Newton-John, Pentatonix, and Miley Cyrus. This time, these drag queens put their own twist to it.

Drag Queens Being A Dolly Parton Fan

It is common knowledge to the gay community that Dolly Parton is one of their many gay icons. Gay icons usually serve as an inspiration to the LGBTQ+ community, and their music gives strength to the queens. These icons’ songs are usually performed by Drag queens, as it is well loved by the audience.

Dolly Parton has a huge gay fan base, and she is well loved by the community. In fact, Dolly also sees herself as a drag queen had she not been born a woman. In an ABC interview, she was asked what she feels about Drag Queens and she replied:

“Yes, it is true. Because I’m so over-exaggerated and I have so many fans in the gay community and the drag queens.”

With the release of her movie Dumplin’, Netflix decided to hire drag queens to do a lip-sync performance of the song, which was also featured in the movie.

Drag Queens Perform “Jolene”

The performance was posted in Netflix’s official YouTube account. In the performance, it featured 6 drag queens namely Manila Luzon, Katya, Bendela Creme, Bebe Zahara Bonet, Ginger Minj, and Alaska Thunderfuck. They are all RuPaul’s drag race alumni, and they have successful careers of their own.

The performance started with each of the queens shown one by one. They all have their own lip-syncing styles as seen in the performance. The emotions of the song were brought out by these queens with just the movement of their mouth. They also showcased their dancing abilities, with one queen even doing a split.

All in all, the performance was hilarious, but still sticking to the essence of the song.
