Well, this one’s got a little bit of everything. Sunset proposals, pink diamonds, and a courtroom showdown that feels more like an episode of Nashville than real life.
Zac Brown is officially off the market. The Zac Brown Band frontman put a ring on it, proposing to jewelry mogul Kendra Scott in a picture-perfect moment on a pier at sunset. It’s the kind of move that would make any hopeless romantic swoon, and Brown sealed the deal with a massive pink diamond, because what else do you get a woman who literally designs jewelry for a living?
During an interview on the TODAY Show the day after their engagement was announced, Brown joked about the pressure. “What are you gonna get somebody that designs jewelry?” he laughed. “But it’s incredible, incredible. So happy… We’re so happy we found each other and we’re blessed.”

And yeah, it looks like a fairy tale. Brown and Scott, who hard-launched their relationship on the red carpet at the 2025 American Music Awards back in May, have a combined eight kids between them and enough money to buy several small islands. Scott herself is reportedly worth $900 million thanks to her wildly successful jewelry empire. In her world, diamonds aren’t just a girl’s best friend—they’re the family business.
But behind that sparkle, there’s some serious smoke.
While Brown is busy making headlines for his new engagement, his ex-wife Kelly Yazdi is out here burning the internet down with her side of the story and she’s got receipts. The two were only married for a hot second, tying the knot in August 2023 before announcing their divorce that December. But things didn’t stop there. Far from it.
Brown filed for divorce in early 2024, but now the two are locked in a nasty legal battle set to head to trial in September. Yazdi claims Brown tried to slap her with a nondisclosure agreement post-split, which she refused to sign. Since then, she’s taken to TikTok with a nine-part series detailing the breakdown of their marriage. Poetry, allegations of narc𝐢ss𝐢stic abuse, and all.

One poem in particular, titled The Rebirth, was at the center of a defamation lawsuit Brown filed against her in May, claiming the post violated a confidentiality agreement and alleging she stole internal company documents. The restraining order Brown requested was denied, and Yazdi fired back with claims that Brown’s band used footage from their wedding in a music video without her consent. His team says the video was shot before they ever met, and that particular accusation has since been dropped. But the war is far from over, and both are set to appear in an Atlanta court this fall.
Meanwhile, Yazdi is racking up millions of views online. Her most recent TikTok video about the legal drama already has over 9 million views, and her captions make it clear she’s not done talking. “This is also not about Zac’s new fiancée,” she wrote. “I will forever be a girls’ girl, and I wish her the best… I would just hope that it would be more important to Zac to focus on his new engagement versus trying to control his last… but here we are.”
Now, as Zac and Kendra lean into their fresh start, they’re doing it with a courtroom date looming just weeks away. And while neither has publicly commented on the situation, the timing hasn’t gone unnoticed by fans. You’ve got a country superstar celebrating a new chapter while his past is trending on TikTok and heading to trial.
If that ain’t a country song waiting to be written, nothing is.
