No, Reba McEntire Did Not Ruin Her Son’s Wedding—Here’s the Truth

Reba McEntire is a country music legend, a loving mother, and—by all accounts—a wonderful mother-in-law. But according to a completely fabricated news story, she’s supposedly the reason her daughter-in-law, Marissa Blackstock, regrets her wedding.

The claim, which first surfaced on a Facebook page called Icons of Country Music, suggests that Marissa was so unhappy with how McEntire behaved at her wedding that she “regrets” the entire thing. There’s just one problem: It’s completely false.

Marissa Blackstock Calls Out Fake News

Reba McEntire’s daughter-in-law, Marissa Blackstock, shut down false claims that Reba ruined her wedding, calling them completely untrue.

Marissa took to Instagram to shut down the rumor and ask fans to help report the page spreading the lie.

“If y’all have a sec, report this page on Facebook,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories. “They post fake news and apparently got tired of me trolling them and blocked me.”

She even added laughing emojis, showing that while she isn’t losing sleep over the false claim, she’s not about to let it go unchecked.

Still, fake stories like this can be harmful—especially when they try to stir up nonexistent drama between family members. And in this case, the story couldn’t be further from the truth.

Reba and Marissa Actually Have a Close Relationship

The idea that there’s any bad blood between Reba and her daughter-in-law is simply laughable. Not only have they never shown signs of tension, but they’ve actually spoken publicly about their close bond.

Marissa married Shelby Blackstock, Reba’s only son, in 2022. Their wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a family affair, with Reba fully involved in the joyous occasion.

Hardly the behavior of a mother-in-law trying to ruin her son’s big day.

And just in case anyone still believed the fake news, Reba and Marissa recently celebrated Shelby’s 35th birthday together, proving that their family is as strong as ever.

Setting the Record Straight

The truth is simple: Reba McEntire did not ruin her son’s wedding. There is no tension between her and Marissa Blackstock, and anyone claiming otherwise is lying.

Marissa has called out the fake news, and her relationship with Reba remains strong. So the next time a wild rumor pops up on social media, take a moment to fact-check—because, more often than not, it’s just another desperate grab for attention.
