Get ready to Kick’n Up Kountry (KUK) this coming June 12-15, 2024, at Wagon Wheel Ridge in Karlstad, Minnesota. It’s the music festival’s 21st installment, and it’s striking hard with a diverse range of headliners: the powerful vocal trio Lady A, the country music band Parmalee, popular for their irresistible harmonies, and one of the biggest hair metal bands of the ‘80s, Warrant.

To elevate the festival experience, they have afterparties for everyone to enjoy. They’re also offering a Kick Start Pre-Party (June 11) with a performance by Zakk Grandahl at night and a free Kick Back Extended Stay Another Day (June 16)! Adventureworld is also getting an expansion with its first-ever airborne asset, the Wagon Wheel Ride. And, of course, there’s the Ultimate Baja Racing for all the fans who are in to ride or watch a wild ride. 

Over the years, country music greats like Alabama, Martina McBride, Dwight Yoakam, Tracy Byrd, Scotty McCreery, Walker Hayes, Clay Walker, and Kane Brown have graced their stage.

Festival Essentials & Insider Tips

There are music tickets, camping tickets, and music plus camping packages that you can avail of.

Music tickets are sold in General Music and VIP tiers: Single Day General Music ($135), 2-day General Music ($250), 4-day General Music ($285), and 4-day VIP Music ($575). You must bring your own lawn chair even in VIP, but the perk of being in one is that you also get 30 drink tickets while enjoying your front-of-the-stage music experience.

For camping, there’s 4-day Standard Camping ($230), 4-day Standard Electric Camping ($315), and 4-day Prime Electric Camping ($695). This year, there’s also a new offering, 4-day Wilderness Camping ($168), where you can soak in a rustic woodland setting and walk down trails and Roman Themes. You’d also need a 4-day Camping Wristband ($60) if you plan on accessing the Standard camping area. 

You can also choose to buy a music and camping package for all four days: General Music & Standard Camping for 2 ($850), General Music & Standard Electric Camping for 2 ($910), General Music & Prime Electric Camping for 2 ($1,350), Deluxe VIP Music & Camping for 1 ($900), and Deluxe VIP Music & Camping for 2 ($1,460). 

If you’re not camping and you’re bringing your own vehicle, make sure to buy a parking pass—daily ($27) or four-day ($54). 

And hey! A day before the official festival starts, they’re having a pre-party ($60) with a Zakk Grandahl performance. They’re also allowing fans to stay for another day entirely for free. During the festival, check out Adventureworld for some fun and join the Ultimate Baja Racing ($20 for adults, $5 for children).
