It is a country hit song written by American songwriters Mike Reid and Allen Shamblin. The song was recorded by American country artist Collin Raye, and it was released on July 27, 1992, from his album, In this Life. Upon the release of the song, it reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and it peaked to number 21 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart. The song spent 20 weeks on the country chart, making it Raye’s second number 1 hit single.

Colline Raye‘s album, In This Life, produced 6 hit singles. These were “In this Life,” “Big River,” “Somebody Else’s Moon,” “That Was a River, “I Want You Bad (And That Ain’t Good), ” and “Let It Be Me.” Thus, it was produced by American country music record producer Garth Fundis along with John Hoos under Epic Records.
