The Country Music Hall of Famer is mourning the death of his wife of over three decades, Mary Jane Thomas. Hank Williams Jr.’s wife unexpectedly died on Tuesday in Jupiter, Florida. She was 58.

A Jupiter, Florida police department representative has revealed that they got a medical call from the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa at five in the afternoon. Thomas was then brought to a local hospital, where she was sadly declared dead.

While the investigation into Thomas’ death is preliminary, a family member said that early indications suggest that she suffered a complication following a medical procedure – most likely a blood clot. However, it is not certain when and where Thomas had the medical procedure and what kind of operation was performed.

At the moment, authorities said her death does not seem to be ruled suspicious.

The Daytona Beach Beauty Hank Williams Jr. Fell In Love With

A native of Dayton Beach, Florida, Mary Jane Thomas pursued a modeling career after attending college. She’s best known as one of the Hawaiian Tropic suntan lotion’s top models.

She and the country icon met in 1985 at one of Hank Williams Jr.‘s concerts in Washington State. The couple had been together for five years before tying the knot in 1990 in Missoula, Montana. It was Thomas’ first marriage while Hank Williams Jr.’s third.

In 2007, Thomas and Hank Jr. announced they would pursue a divorce after being married for sixteen years. Eventually, the two resolved their marital issues and called off the annulment.

Thomas remained out of the public eye throughout their married life, yet she joined her husband at his Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony in November 2021. The couple had two children together: son Samuel Williams and daughter Katie Williams-Dunning, who died in 2020 following a car accident.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Hank Williams Jr. and all the loved ones Mary Jane Thomas left behind.
