Alan Jackson’s family just got a little sweeter.

The country music legend is officially a grandfather again as his eldest daughter, Mattie Jackson Smith, welcomed her second child, a baby girl named Charlotte “Charlie” Ann Smith, on February 13. Mattie shared the joyful news on February 17, posting the first photos of her newborn daughter and calling her arrival a Valentine’s surprise.

“Our little valentine decided to make her entrance a few days early, and we couldn’t be more in love with her,” Mattie wrote. “You are the greatest tiny pink blessing, angel girl. Momma, Dada, and even big brother and Ryman already love you so 💝👶🏻🎀.”

Charlie joins big brother Wesley Alan Smith, who was born in June 2024. Wesley carries family history in his name, honoring both Alan Jackson and Connor Smith’s grandfather. Now, just over a year old, he has officially stepped into his new role as big brother.

Mattie, 35, first announced her second pregnancy in October 2025 with a series of photos featuring her husband, Connor, and their son holding an ultrasound image. “The most amazing news we are beyond excited to share,” she wrote at the time. “Our little wild angel is going to be a big brother. Baby GIRL Smith coming February 2026.”

The announcement marked another joyful chapter in a story that has carried both heartbreak and healing. Mattie was previously married to Ben Selecman, who tragically died in 2018, just weeks before their first wedding anniversary. In the years that followed, Mattie spoke openly about navigating grief through faith and leaning into hope again.

She later met Connor, and the two married in May 2023. Less than a year later, they welcomed Wesley, and now baby Charlie completes their family of four.

Mattie, who hosts the In Joy Life podcast and has written about faith and resilience, often shares glimpses of her life as a young mom. When Wesley was born, she reflected on the weight and wonder of motherhood.

“My life was forever changed,” she wrote. “There is no greater honor in life than being chosen by God to be your mom.”

The arrival of Charlie also marks a particularly special season for the Jackson family. Alan Jackson and his wife, Denise, are parents to three adult daughters, and all three have recently been expecting or welcoming children. Mattie’s sisters, Alexandra “Ali” Jackson Bradshaw and Dani Grace Jackson, are also growing their families this year.

On Christmas Day, Alan shared a photo of his daughters, all visibly pregnant at the time, with the caption, “Merry Christmas from our growing family.” It was a full-circle moment for a man whose songs have long centered on family, faith, and the passage of time.

At 67, the country icon is now grandfather to Wesley Alan Smith, Jackson Alvie Bradshaw, and baby Charlie Ann Smith, with more little ones on the way. For a singer who gave fans “Remember When,” watching his own family expand in real time feels especially fitting.

The photos Mattie shared show Wesley gazing at his baby sister with wide-eyed wonder. It is the kind of heart-melting moment Alan has sung about for decades.

Somewhere between lullabies and late-night feedings, another verse has quietly been added to the Jackson family story.
