There’s something sweet about seeing Alan Jackson’s cowboy heart wrapped around a grandbaby.

Now he is getting another one.

Mattie Jackson Smith, Alan’s oldest daughter, just announced she is expecting her second child with her husband, Connor Smith. The couple’s firstborn, little Wesley Alan Smith, came into the world in June 2024. And now, he is getting promoted to big brother. Mattie posted the happy news with a family photo and a caption that could warm a steel guitar. She wrote, “Our little wild angel is going to be a big brother… Baby GIRL Smith coming February 2026.”

You know Grandpa Alan is already brushing up on lullabies.

Mattie’s life has not always looked like a country fairytale, but this next chapter is as joyful as they come. After losing her first husband, Ben Selecman, in a tragic accident in 2018, Mattie has been open about her grief and how love pulled her through. She built NaSHEville, a nonprofit for women walking hard roads, and she found healing in helping others.

Then, in 2023, she found new love in Connor Smith. Their wedding was full of light and second chances, and now it has turned into something even sweeter. It is a growing family built on faith, grit, and grace. You can see it in the photos. One shows Wesley holding the ultrasound photo with a grin that could melt concrete. Another catches the whole family wrapped up in fall colors and future dreams.

Baby girl Smith is arriving in February 2026, which just happens to be the same year Alan Jackson takes his final bow at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. The Last Call One More for the Road concert is scheduled for June 27, 2026, and it is already shaping up to be one for the history books. Names like Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, and Carrie Underwood are joining Alan for the grand finale.

Country’s quiet giant is going out on his own terms with his boots planted firmly in Music City and a new grandbaby in the family tree.

You can bet Alan’s heart will be full that night. Not just from the ovations or the spotlight, but from the kind of legacy that matters most, which is family. His middle daughter, Alexandra, has a toddler of her own, Jackson Alvie Bradshaw, who was born in 2022. Add Wesley and now a baby girl, and that makes three grandkids for Alan and his wife, Denise. The Jackson house is about to get even more lively.

This is the kind of country song you do not have to write because life already did it for you. It is one part heartbreak and one part redemption, all wrapped up in the kind of joy that sneaks up quiet and sticks around forever.

Alan Jackson built his career on singing the truth. And right now, the truth is pretty beautiful.

He has a final show on the calendar and a new baby girl on the way.

That is the kind of encore country dreams are made of.
