Bunnie XO Posted a Nickelback Breakup Song Hours Before TMZ Broke the Jelly Roll Divorce News and Fans Caught Every Detail

Bunnie XO lip syncing and dancing in a social media video, sharing Nickelback's breakup song "How You Remind Me" just hours before news of her divorce from Jelly Roll broke.

Bunnie XO told the internet before TMZ did. She just did it with a Nickelback song instead of a press release.

Hours before TMZ broke the news that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce, Bunnie posted a video of herself lip-syncing and dancing to Nickelback’s “How You Remind Me,” one of the most recognizable breakup anthems of the last 25 years. She captioned it with a single word and a kiss emoji. “Banger.”

At first glance, it looked like any other social media post. But the lyrics she chose to highlight weren’t subtle.

“It’s not like you didn’t know that I said I love you, and I swear I still do. And it must have been so bad, ’cause living with me must have damn near killed you.”

Those aren’t casual lyrics. Those are the words of someone who has already processed the ending and is choosing to tell you about it on her own terms.

Bunnie XO Dropped Two Hints Before the Divorce News Went Public

The Nickelback video was the first signal, but it wasn’t the only one. Bunnie XO then took to her Instagram Story and shared a stripped-down photo of herself with the words “She’s getting her sparkle back” written in tiny font.

If that feels like a woman who is devastated, think again. That feels like a woman who already did the crying, already packed the bags, and is now standing on the other side of it.

And for anyone who has been following Bunnie’s story over the last decade, that tracks more than most people realize. This isn’t the first time she’s had to rebuild after Jelly Roll broke something.

In her memoir “Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic,” published in February 2026, Bunnie went into detail about discovering that Jelly Roll had a 10-month affair around 2018, just two years into their marriage. She told Fox News Digital she “was devastated” and “didn’t think he would be the one person to do that.” She packed her bags and moved back to Las Vegas. They split, came back together, split again, and eventually renewed their vows in August 2023 at the same Las Vegas chapel where they first eloped.

In October 2025, Jelly Roll called the affair “one of the worst moments of my adulthood” on the Human School podcast and said he was proud of the work they had done to repair things. By February 2026, Bunnie was writing about their IVF plans and the surrogate they had found to carry twins. “Now that we’re finally stable financially and somewhat emotionally after all the healing we’ve done over this decade together, we’re talking about the future, including growing our family,” she wrote.

That was four months ago. Now the future looks very different.

According to court records obtained by TMZ, Jelly Roll filed for divorce from Bunnie in May in Tennessee. Sources told the outlet the split was a mutual decision and a private family matter.

Whatever happened between the Grammy Awards red carpet in February and that courthouse filing in May, neither one of them is talking about it publicly. But Bunnie’s social media tells its own story. She didn’t post a long statement or a tearful video. She posted a Nickelback song and a photo that said “She’s getting her sparkle back.”

That’s the most Bunnie XO way to handle a divorce announcement anyone could imagine. The woman who published a 300-page book about surviving an affair, who shared every detail of her IVF struggles on TikTok, who has never once pretended her marriage was easy, chose to tell the world it was over with a Chad Kroeger chorus and a kiss emoji.

And honestly? That tells you everything about where she’s at right now.
