Scotty McCreery is trading tour buses for baby bottles once again because the McCreery family just grew to four.

On September 18, Scotty and his wife Gabi welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Oliver Cooke McCreery. The couple shared the news a few days later with fans on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos that could melt even the toughest cowboy boots. “Oliver Cooke McCreery joined our family on September 18th,” they wrote with a blue heart and a happy-tears emoji. “Can’t imagine life without him, we love him so berry much!!”

The pictures said it all. In one, Gabi cradled the newborn against her chest while Scotty leaned in with a grin that stretched wider than a Carolina sky. In another, big brother Avery, now two years old, was cuddled up next to his baby brother, already looking proud of his new role. Fans flooded the comments with congratulations, with one writing, “The McCreery family keeps getting sweeter,” and another saying, “Welcome to the world little Oliver.”

The name Oliver Cooke carries some weight in the McCreery household because Cooke is also Scotty’s middle name, tying father and son together with a family thread. Oliver now joins Avery, whose own full name is Merrick Avery, passed down from Gabi’s side of the family. It is a tradition rooted in names and legacy, the kind of thing that fits a country singer raised on family values.

The couple had teased the arrival months ago with a sweet May announcement that featured Avery in a “Big Brother” sweatshirt. Scotty captioned it, “A new best friend coming this fall!” and fans immediately knew the family’s next chapter was about to start. By August, Scotty was already posting about their “last bus weekend as a family of three,” showing Gabi’s growing baby bump as they posed in front of their tour bus.

If Avery’s summer was any hint, he is already primed for big brother duties. Scotty spent extra time with his firstborn before Oliver’s arrival, making memories that were straight out of a country song. In July, Scotty posted a video of him and Avery jumping off a dock in matching red life jackets while his single “Bottle Rockets” blasted in the background. He also shared family snapshots from the 4th of July, with the crew hanging on the beach, floating in a boat, and soaking in the kind of summer days that stick with you forever.

Now, with Oliver in the mix, those memories will multiply. Two little boys born just two years apart mean Scotty and Gabi’s house will be filled with noise, chaos, and laughter. The couple, who tied the knot in 2018 after dating since high school, are stepping into this season of life with the same steady faith and family-first energy that has always defined them. She is a nurse, he is a touring country star, and together they have built a foundation strong enough to handle sleepless nights and diaper duty right alongside arena shows.

For now, Scotty is on a short break from the road, although he will head out with Dustin Lynch this November for a fall tour. But if his recent Instagram posts are any clue, his favorite stage right now is not lit with spotlights, it is the living room floor, with Avery on one side and baby Oliver in his arms.

Life has given Scotty McCreery platinum records, sold-out tours, and country radio smashes. But with Oliver’s arrival, he just got another number one in the only chart that really matters, which is family.
