To kick off 2023, Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton performed a medley of their hits on NBC’s special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party live from Miami, Florida, last December 31. The duo hit the crowd with Miley’s 2013 single “Wrecking Ball” and then smoothly transitioned to Dolly’s 1974 classic “I Will Always Love You.” They also performed “Jolene,” which was duetted by Miley and her sister Noah the previous year.

Aside from their hit songs, Miley and her godmother also did their rendition of Patsy Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight” and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ “I Love Rock’ n’ Roll.”

Other performers for the night were FLETCHER, Latto, Liily, Rae Sremmurd, Sia, and David Byrne. They also featured Chloe Fineman and Sarah Sherman of Saturday Night Live and the comedy writing/performing trio Please Don’t Destroy.

Fletcher joined Miley for a sultry duet of “Midnight Sky” while Swae Lee of Rae Sremmurd hyped the crowd with a collab of “Party Up the Street.” Paris Hilton also made a surprise appearance for “Stars Are Blind,” joining Miley and Sia on stage.

Speaking of surprises, Miley also announced that she would be releasing her new single “Flowers” on January 13. A poster campaign with inspirational messages “I can love me better than you can” and “I can hold my own hand” dropped on her Twitter

This was Miley’s second consecutive time hosting the annual event. It was previously helmed by American television host and radio personality Carson Daly.
