George Strait, a well-known country music artist from the United States, released a heartbreaking song in 2013.

The song is a commemoration of the 26 people that died in the Newtown, Connecticut shooting tragedy in 2012. Though many people don’t realize it, the song’s inspiration is more profound than it seems.

In addition to the fact that “I Believe” was really intended to be written with the victims in mind, George Strait was said to have been moved to tears upon hearing about the occurrence. Since this reminded him of the painful moment he lost his 13-year-old daughter Jennifer Strait in a car accident in 1986.

Having stated that, that could have been the reason why he put so much effort into crafting the song to console the bereaved loved ones and families of the victims.

George Strait tried his best to give the mourning family and other people the sense that someone is constantly watching over them and providing them with light when things were gloomy. That all they have to do is have faith in God, similar to what he did after losing his daughter.

And his genuine sympathies for the victim’s family truly show through, since through “I Believe” they were able to find some of the solaces they required at the moment. Given that it was replete with God’s message; the song inexplicably took on the form of a message from above.

Due to the song’s sincerity and the message’s relevance to those who have experienced loss, practically everyone who heard it could connect. The U.S. chart for “I Believe” debuted and peaked at no. 50. As the first song in Strait’s career to not reach the Top 40, the Billboard Country Airplay chart, it failed to reach the Top 40. But, despite this, for the listeners, it is still considered to be one of George Strait’s most popular songs.

So, if you are in the mood to listen to a song that will really remind you of the existence of God, then “I Believe” by George Strait is the perfect song for you. You can listen to the song now by clicking here.
