You were truly a hero for us. Your great sacrifices will always be treasured!

“Letters From Home”

American country music artist John Michael Montgomery pays tribute to the 9/11 tragedy with his song “Letters from Home.” Montgomery’s song was released on February 2004 from his album, Letters from Home. Upon the release of the song, it peaked at the number 2 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart and at number 24 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

In addition, “Letters From Home” is a special song for Montgomery because it became his first highest single to ever peak the charts. The song also gained positive comments and praises from country fans and music critics.

The Song’s Story

“Letters From Home” was written by Tony Lane and David Lee. Lee got the idea of writing this song after seeing a soldier and his girlfriend saying goodbye at the airport. We all know that this profession requires a brave heart and soul. Soldiers do not only think of himself but they also think of his family and country.

Many of our soldiers have left their homes to push through with their dreams and one of those is to save his country. In line with this song, “Letters From Home” shows the love and support of the family. The family showed their love and support by writing a letter.  Honestly, seeing your family’s support will be a great motivation for you to work hard. The letter given motivates anyone to push through with his profession no matter how hard it is.

However, in this song, the soldier’s father was unimpressed with the achievements of his son but he eventually admits that from the very start he was already proud of him. The soldier was then brought to tears and continued to inspire his fellow soldiers.
