Donna Fargo was one of the few female breakout country artists of the ‘7os. She rose to fame with her most notable hit “The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA.”

Donna was able to get to the level of fame among female country artists such as Dolly Parton, Tammy Wynette, and Loretta Lynn. The singer owes part of her success to her songwriting skills. Most of the music that she performed was written by her including this one.

Donna Fargo’s Hit Song

The track “The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA” was not even supposed to be the title of the song. Donna Fargo admitted that instead of the USA, it was originally ‘Happiest Girl in the Whole World.’ She then changed it due to difficulty in rhyming the word to other words. The song became a hit in both country and pop charts.

This cemented Donna Fargo’s career as a country artist and it spawned to more music from her.  The track also earned Fargo a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance back in 1973.  The song was also well-loved by her fellow country artists. Tammy Wynette, Tanya Tucker, and Nancy Sinatra did their version of the song. Popstar Lana Del Ray was also fond of the track so she performed it at one of her gigs back in 2009.

Happiness is a Choice

This Donna Fargo track is heavily inspired by the whole idea of being happy. We can all be the happiest person in the world if we choose to be. Even in this world where we can only seem to watch horrible news unfold, we can still be happy. It is quite challenging but it can be done.

We must choose to be happy even when we are faced with difficult challenges. This will greatly help us cope with stress and may even prove useful in coming up with ideas to solve our problems. We could all learn from this wonderful track from Donna Fargo.
