After the music fest was halted by lightning and storms, fans and patrons were all too familiar with the phrase ‘the show must go on.’ Despite the terrible weather and the temporary closure of the venue, the Carolina Country Music Fest still pushed through its festivities in downtown Myrtle Beach.
Just a Small Hiccup for the Carolina Country Music Fest
Festival-goers weren’t at all disheartened when it was announced that Myrtle Beach was closing for a few hours. Instead, they adopted a positive persona, determined to get back and enjoy the festival.
Myrtle Beach police announced around 2:30 in the afternoon that festival goers had to evacuate from the scene and the event grounds were going to be temporarily closed for safety precautions. Later at around 3:40 PM, they issued an “all clear.”
For the locals, they weren’t all that bothered with the rain because they were used to the humidity and the weather. But for the people who were out of town, they were a bit miffed and hoped that Mother Nature wouldn’t interfere as much with the festivities.
Despite this, all festival goers decidedly wanted to have a good time, and they did.
The Carolina Country Music Festival is on its 5th year. Previous acts that headlined the previous days were Alabama, Dierks Bentley, Brothers Osborne, Jimmie Allen, among others.

Florida Georgia Line and Dan + Shay were the headliners scheduled to perform Saturday night.
Others slated to perform on the Coors Light Main Stage were Cam, Gone West, Delta Rae, Dee Jay Silver, and Warrick McZeke. The lineup for the American Anthem Stage included Mitchell Tenpenny, Kevin Mac featuring Yesterday’s Wine, Trea Landon, and Kevin Nichols.
Sunday’s headliners for the Coors Light Main Stage include Thomas Rhett. Dustin Lynch, Midland, Rhett Akins, Dylan Schneider, Dee Jay Silver, and John Gurney.
The American Anthem Stage featured the following Sunday: Filmore, Matt Stell, Diamonds & Whiskey, and Whits End.
