Once again, the American country-rock band The Eagles made headlines on media after reaching another milestone in their career. Do you remember their album Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975? It has been reported in a press release that this breakthrough record has now reached 38x platinum certification. This achievement earns the band back their reputation for holding the Best-Selling Album of All Time title after the late “King of Pop” Michael Jackson took it for his iconic record, Thriller, becoming 33x platinum.

The Eagles’ Best-Selling Album

The Eagles’ Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 first reached the sought-after ranking in 1976. It was also the first album to be platinum certified by the RIAA. The record became the best-selling album in the U.S. for almost a decade, until Jackson’s Thriller stole the top spot in 2009, shortly after his passing.

For sure, you know very well these hits which were included on the band’s album, namely “Take It Easy,” “Lyin’ Eyes,” “Take It to the Limit,” “Heartache Tonight,” “Tequila Sunrise,” and “Desperado.” These songs undeniably reached commercial success in the ‘70s propelling the group’s popularity. And even up to this day, they remain as one of The Eagles’ best-known records.

Meanwhile, another album of the band was highly successful which only proves their knack on producing high-quality and appealing records. Their 1977 release Hotel California reached 26x platinum status and went on to become the third best-selling album of all time. Knowing that this band continues to tour even after almost five decades since they started as a performing group, we can’t help but think of them as incredible. That’s not to mention that they remain active in the music industry even after their founding member Glenn Frey had passed away.

One of the band members, Don Henley, expressed words of gratitude to everyone for their incessant support which helped the band makes it up to the present.

“We are grateful for our families, our management, our crew, the people at radio and, most of all, the loyal fans who have stuck with us through the ups and downs of 46 years. It’s been quite a ride.”

Currently, the band is touring with Vince Gill and Glenn Frey’s son Deacon. They’re expected to be busy on the road through mid-November this year.
