2019 GMA Dove Awards Winners for Gospel Artist, Artist, & New Artist of the Year

First of all, we would like to congratulate all the winners of the 50th Annual Dove Awards. You are indeed great, Congratulations to all of you!  The GMA Dove Award is an event that honors outstanding achievements and excellence in Christian and Gospel songs. Awards are presented to the candidates representing Modern Rock, Rap/Hip Hop, Pop/Contemporary, Inspirational, Southern Gospel, Urban, Bluegrass, Country, Worship, and many others.

Gospel singer and songwriter Bill Gaither gave the idea about the Dove Award back in 1968. The idea of the award shown has been credited to Gaither and the design for the awards is credited to Les Beasley, a gospel singer. The first awards show takes place at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee back in October 1969. After 2 years, the awards show was moved to Nashville.

GMA Dove Awards: Gospel Artist of the Year

Kirk Dewayne Franklin professionally known as Kirk Franklin won the 2019 GMA Dove Awards for the Gospel Artist of the year. He plays a role as a choir director, gospel musician, singer, songwriter, and an author. He also leads in urban contemporary gospel choirs such as The Family, God’s Property, and National Crew.

 In addition, he has already achieved over 13 Grammy Awards and is referred to as the “Reigning King of Urban Gospel.”

Lauren Ashley Daigle professionally known as Lauren Daigle won the 2019 GMA Dove Awards for the Artist of the year. Lauren is an award-winning American contemporary Christian singer who has already achieved 2 Grammy Awards, 7 GMA Dove Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, and 2 American Music Awards. She also had 4 number 1 singles that entered into Billboard Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs chart.

GMA Dove Awards: New Artist of the Year

Aaron Tyrese Cole professionally known as Aaron Cole won the 2019 GMA Dove Awards for the New Artist of the Year. Aaron is an American Christian hip-hop recording artist and songwriter. He started his musical career at the age of 4. Thus, he signed a contract with Gotee Records, a popular recorded label founded by Toby McKeehan. His best-known songs are “Right on Time” and “One More Day.”
