Reminiscing your childhood days, with all those happy times you spent with your friends and people you love is just lovely. Also, living in a small town where you almost knew everyone and every place in it. Well, Kip Moore will bring back those memories of summertime with his song “Somethin’ ‘bout a Truck.”

“Something ‘bout a Truck” Billboard Performance

This is Kip Moore’s first song to peak at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs for 2 weeks in 2012. Furthermore, it also peaked at No. 29 on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts the same year. It was the third single from his album Up All Night, which was released in 2012. The album Up All Night peaked at No. 3 on the US Billboard Top Country Albums chart in 2012. A lot of people loved his song because it reminded them of life when they were young and it was simple.

The Song’s Inspiration

The song came to Moore when he borrowed a truck from his father to pick up a woman he was dating. The woman was not into him that much but he said that seeing him in his father’s truck made the woman seem to change into a whole new person. He told his father about it and his father said to write that down, hence, “Somethin’ ‘bout a Truck” was born. Some lyrics of the song is all about Moore’s life when he was in high school and college. Where he used to park on tailgates and drink beer with his friends. That’s why many people enjoyed the song for it was truly a throwback kind of song.

The song was written by Dan Couch and Kipling Moore in 2011. It was also a 2-timed platinum-certified song.
