Kelly Clarkson just took a Red Clay Strays song to church and back again, and fans are still picking their jaws up off the floor.

It all went down during her latest Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where the Texas-born powerhouse dropped a version of “No One Else Like Me” that was so full of grit and soul, it sounded like she had written the thing herself. The original track, by rising Southern rock-country outfit The Red Clay Strays, already hits hard. But when Kelly got her hands on it, she lit a fire under it and made it fly.

Brandon Coleman, the lead vocalist for The Red Clay Strays, is no slouch. The man’s voice is a freight train of emotion and range. But there is something magical about watching someone like Clarkson step into that energy and not only match it but elevate it. Her take on “No One Else Like Me” was not just technically perfect. It was pure emotion poured into every line. It reminded folks exactly why she remains one of the most commanding voices in any genre, not just pop or country.

And fans are here for it.

The performance comes just months after Clarkson endured a personal loss with the passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025. She took some time away from her show, and now that she is back, she is stepping up to the mic with even more heart than ever. If you thought she could belt before, this recent stretch of performances has made it clear that Kelly Clarkson is in a league of her own. And she has got something to say.

Meanwhile, The Red Clay Strays are riding their own wave of massive success. Since dropping their breakout album Made by These Moments in 2024, the Alabama group has gone from underground favorite to chart-topping powerhouse. They won Emerging Artist of the Year at the 2024 Americana Awards and took home New Vocal Duo or Group at the 2025 ACM Awards. They also delivered a show-stealing CMA performance that helped them finally grab Vocal Group of the Year over long-time winners Old Dominion. That is not bad for a band that started out playing honky-tonks and roadside bars.

Their sound, a blend of southern rock, country, blues, and soul, has carved out a unique place in modern country music. And Kelly Clarkson, clearly a fan, chose the perfect song to showcase her unmatched vocals. “No One Else Like Me” is the kind of gritty and raw anthem that does not just need a great singer. It demands one. Clarkson did not just hit the notes. She lived inside them. It was part throwback, part soul revival, part Southern gospel tent fire, and one hundred percent Kelly Clarkson.

Fans are already dreaming about what it would sound like if she and The Red Clay Strays teamed up for a full-on duet. If this performance proved anything, it is that these two vocal powerhouses belong on the same stage.

Country, soul, and rock, no matter what you want to call it, Kelly just reminded everyone that when the music matters, she shows up with everything she has got.

And that is what keeps us coming back.
