Meet John Denver’s children – Zachary, Anna Kate, and Jesse Belle- who were the blessed fruits of his two marriages.

John Denver was first married to Annie Martell, who inspired one of his hits titled “Annie’s Song.” The two met in 1966 during a concert in Minnesota, and a year later, they exchanged vows. The couple adopted two kids after struggling to have a kid of their own, a boy named Zachary and a girl named Anna Kate. The family settled in their mountain home in Aspen, Colorado, after moving from Edina, Minnesota. But Denver and Martell’s relationship came to an end in 1982. In a 1983 interview, Denver said that his career demands drove them apart, and Martell said that they were too young and immature.

Six years later, Denver married Australian actress Cassandra Delaney with whom he had a daughter named Jesse Belle. The couple separated in 1991 and finally divorced in 1993.

Zachary John Denver

John Denver and then-wife Annie Martell adopted Zachary (alongside Anna Kate) back in the early ‘70s after the couple struggled to have a kid. Zachary was reportedly born on May 23, 1974, and is the oldest of the three siblings. As of now, he is happily married to his wife Jennifer, with whom he has a son. Jennifer has always been very private, and she is rarely seen with her husband. Although she was spotted with mother-in-law Annie in 2010 attending pro-dog trainer Cesar Millan’s event in Aspen.

Unlike his father, Zachary decided to pursue a career in politics and is now an active social worker. Back in 2000, he was a member of the United Party of America. His family is currently based in Basalt, Colorado.

Anna Kate Denver

There is so much mystery surrounding Anna Kate. Out of the three siblings, she is the only one who had never stood in the limelight except in 2011, when she attended her father’s Music Hall of Fame induction with brother Zachary and sister Jesse.

She was reportedly born in 1976, and by the time she arrived, the family was already settled in their mountain home in Aspen (after moving from Edina, Minnesota). She is married to a private equity investor and investment banker Jaime Hutter who is based in Wanaka, New Zealand. The couple used to live in the US but then ultimately moved to Wanaka, where they are currently living with their daughter Daisy Eloise who was born on December 21, 2011.

Anna Kate’s husband, Jaime Hutter, is a private equity investor and investment banker and is also known as a philanthropist. He has already raised money for several charities and even set a new record for the 24-hour indoor row as he fundraised for St. John NZ, Coastguard NZ, and Wanaka Search and Rescue Inc.

Jesse Belle Deutschendorf

Jesse Belle was born on May 18, 1989 to parents John Denver and actress Cassandra Delaney. She is their one and only daughter. While she deviated from the path of music, she still pursued a career in the arts. Jesse studied in different art schools around the US and Australia and now sells her art for a living. Besides art, she is also very much into healthy living and is a certified health coach.

Jesse Belle is now married to her longtime boyfriend, Eli LeGate. The couple exchanged vows last September 27, 2019, in John Denver Sanctuary in front of close friends and family. Out of John Denver’s three kids, she is the most active on social media. And aside from her appearance back in 2011 at her father’s Music Hall of Fame induction, she also accepted a star for him on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014 alongside her brother.

Where are they now?

In Denver’s lifetime, despite having a successful career and although his marriages didn’t work out, his kids had always been his top priorities. After John Denver’s death, he left his children $7 million worth of trust fund.

As of now, John Denver’s children are working with Brian Schwartz to put together a film of his life as well as a documentary of his activism and a Broadway musical.
