Holly Dunn made the world cry when she left us on November 14, 2016. She passed away due to ovarian cancer.

“‘Are You Ever Gonna Love Me” was co-written by Dunn along with Tom Shapiro and her brother Chris Waters. It was released in May 1989 as the first single from the album The Blue Rose of Texas.

“Daddy’s Hands” was a song written and recorded by Holly Dunn. It was released in August 1986 as the third and final single from the album Holly Dunn. The song reached No.7 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.

Her Battle With Ovarian Cancer

In March 2016, Holly Dunn announced that she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of ovarian cancer. Despite a difficult diagnosis, she did not show any signs of fear. Instead, She leaned on her faith to give her strength.

Her funeral was not traditional but rather a celebration of life.  It held a silent auction and live music. The proceeds were donated to help fund research for ovarian carcinosarcoma.

Holly Dunn is dearly missed. Her songs will always remind us of an angel who inspired many people.
