The long wait is over! It has been three years since the release of “New Year’s Day.” Now, Taylor Swift will be releasing a new country single for the country radio.

“Betty” is one of the sixteen tracks of Swift’s newest studio album “Folklore” and it is set to make its debut soon. More than just a return song in country music for Swift, “Betty” has a lot more meaning in-store.

“Betty” Would Give Problems to Radio Programmers

Taylor Swift has crafted her album based on the mixture of life experiences and stories she has heard from other people and some fictional characters. “Betty” is just one of the beautiful masterpieces that Swift produced on her latest album. However, this new song would definitely bring radio country programmers out of their comfort zone.

It is not because of the music style that completely diverts from country, but Swift’s new country single gives a very confusing context. “Betty” is driven to the point of regaining the followers whom Swift has lost when she turned pop. This is completely a thing that true blue country fans and veteran radio programmers would never do in their lives. Fortunately, this just goes for some and gives most of us the chance to enjoy another of Swift’s works of art.

Love Triangle?

As soon as the single was released, different theories sprang up as to what the song meant and its significance to Swift. Theories say that it has something to do with Swift’s gender preferences. Some link it to Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ third daughter since Swift used the couple’s other daughters in the song. Swift, however, made it clear that “Betty” is a part of a trilogy.

It was written from a man’s perspective who was apologizing to the song’s subject whom he has cheated on with another woman. With a YouTube “vignette” video, Swift explained that the single was part of a trilogy of songs which included “Cardigan” and “August” that tells the story of the boy, Betty, and the girl he cheated with. These were all written at different times.

“Betty” is Certified by Blake Shelton

A star supporting a star, Blake Shelton posted on his socials to show his support for Swift’s newest country single. The country star revealed how he loved the new songs that came out from the album and added that “Betty” was his favorite among all the new singles which Swift has released. Shelton also has a trilogy of a reason on why he approves “Betty,”

“It’s pretty Country, it’s my dog’s name, and it drops the F-bomb. Triple Threat.”
