A straightforward summertime hook-up and party tune called “Ready Set Roll” features cruising, talking while taking fireball shots, and lovely, appealing women. Even though it’s all in good fun, when the song was first published, some of the lyrics led to backlash from female fans.

When accused of being disrespectful to women, Rice raced to defend its intention.

It was included on his major label debut studio album after previously appearing as the first single from his EP album in November 2013. Its composition was a collaborative effort between Rice, Rhett Akins, and Chris DeStefano, who also served as the song’s producer.

“Ready Set Roll” debuted on the Hot Country Songs list at number 27, and at number 100 on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. And on the American charts, the song debuted at 57th position.

Until March 2014, Columbia Records Nashville, Thirty Tigers, and RED Distribution collaborated to promote the song, with help from RPM Management and Dack Janiels. It peaked at the 54th spot on the Hot 100 list for the week of October 11, 2014. And then at the fifth spot on the Country Airplay chart the following week. And at the 5th position again on the Hot Country Songs chart for the week of November 1st, 2014.

Considered one of the best Chase Rice songs, the RIAA had given it a Platinum award in 2014. One million copies were sold in the US in March 2015. By July 2015, 1,060,000 copies of the song had been sold in the US.

Party on with “Ready Set Roll” by Chase Rice in the video below!
