Dierks Bentley Admits He and His Wife No Longer Sleep in the Same Room

Dierks Bentley and his wife, Cassidy, are proving that sometimes the secret to a strong marriage is a little space between the pillows.

The country star recently revealed on Bobbycast that he and Cassidy no longer sleep in the same bed, or even the same room. Before anyone starts speculating, the decision has nothing to do with marital strife. It comes down to one thing every couple battles eventually, and that is sleep.

Dierks Bentley admitted he is a high-maintenance sleeper who needs everything just right. “I have three pillows, I have to be positioned exactly the correct way,” he explained. Cassidy, on the other hand, falls asleep instantly, often jerking just as he is trying to drift off. “She’s already asleep, like that!” he said, snapping his fingers in disbelief.

Years of tossing and turning pushed Bentley to find a solution. Instead of one shared mattress, he made the bold move of replacing their bed with two platform beds, two box springs, and two separate mattresses. Each had their own duvet, and he even joked that there was a clear line on the floor between their beds. He compared it to trucks and said, “Why would you have a truck with leaf springs when you can have independent suspension?” For a while, it worked.

The system did not last, though. Cassidy eventually opted to move to the couch, frustrated with Dierks’ restless nights. “She’s like, there’s an extra room we have, and she just goes sleeping in there,” he admitted. It is not exactly the fairytale picture fans might expect, but Bentley is the first to say that marriage is about finding what works and not about pretending things are perfect.

The couple has been married for nearly 20 years and has raised three kids, while Bentley balances the chaos of touring with family life at home. And if sleeping separately helps them both function, they are hardly alone. A growing number of couples admit they sleep better apart. Experts say it can even make a relationship stronger because being well-rested means more patience, more energy, and even more intimacy.

Bentley seems to understand this balance. He is not hiding the fact that he and Cassidy are still working it out. “Even last night, we’re like, ‘We’ve got to get this back on track,'” he admitted. His goal is to get her back in the same room when his tour schedule slows down. “So I’m gonna try to move her back in this year. It’s a big plan.”

Fans know Bentley as a road warrior who pours his life into songs like “Living” and “Say You Do.” Behind the spotlight, he is also just a husband trying to figure out how to make home life smooth when the stage lights go out. It is a reminder that even country stars deal with the same frustrations everyone else does, such as snoring, twitching, stolen blankets, and the desperate search for a decent night’s sleep.

Marriage is not about pretending you never struggle. It is about laughing through the quirks, finding solutions, and admitting when you need to reset. Bentley and Cassidy may not be under the same covers every night, but their honesty and commitment show they are still very much in this together.

Because at the end of the day, sharing a life matters more than sharing a blanket.
