When you are a student and have to participate in a yearly talent show organized by the school, you know you have to prepare something big not only to impress everyone else but also to make your parents proud and have a huge achievement already while you are still young.

An elementary student named Brayden knew just the right piece to sing in front of his classmates and teachers during the event because he chose to sing George Strait‘s “I Saw God Today.”

Written by Wade Kirby, Rodney Clawson, and Monty Criswell, “I Saw God Today,” recorded by George Strait, is a single from the Troubadour album released in February 2008. The song won Single of the Year in the CMA Awards held in 2008.

It is no question why Brayden chose to sing Strait’s hit song, “I Saw God Today.” The track peaked at the #1 spot on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, and it easily became Strait’s 43rd #1 hit. Furthermore, the Recording Industry Association of America gave the song a platinum certification for selling over a million albums sales.

Brayden easily garnered the attention of everyone in the auditorium when he picked up the microphone and started singing. The whole place was quiet, with everyone focused on Brayden as he sang his short rendition of Strait’s music.

After he delivered the song beautifully, the auditorium burst into screams, claps, and cheers. Everyone was impressed with Brayden’s version of the legendary George Strait and his song “I Saw God Today.” George Strait had maybe given his approval of little Brayden’s version because it was truly an amazing voice and rendition to hear.
