Police Officer from Arizona Helps a Suicidal Man by Offering Him a Hug

With the recent issues of police brutality, it is becoming rare to see news of heroism from our police officers. But, police officer Aaron Little of the Chandler Police Department, knows the importance of one’s life.

Back in March of this year, a 26-year-old man tried to end his life by climbing an overpass in Arizona and to jump off of it. Luckily, police officer Aaron was there to save the day.

Police Officer Aaron Offers A Hug

One might think that there was a lot of convincing that went on in the event but all it took was a sweet gesture from the police. At first, the officer was just trying to calm the man and try to make sense of the situation. The police officer immediately offered the man a hug by saying:

“Just come here buddy, I don’t care… I’ll hug you. Just come here. I wanna talk to you”

The police officer proceeded to ask for the person to come down by continuously assuring him that he will give him a hug. With his insistent promise of a hug and his calming manner, he was able to calm the suicidal man and he did hug him in the end.

Compassion Goes a Long Way

This officer breaks all the bad press that they’ve had from the recent years. He showed that not all of them are bad and some (like him) is even heroic in a sense. He was able to convince the guy to not take his life just by simply offering him a hug.

This is just one of the many ways that police officers are doing their job. Sometimes, we tend to forget the good things that they do on a daily basis just because of some negative press that they have received. Officers like Aaron from Arizona is a good example that showing compassion can really save someone’s life, so we should always practice it.
