Tim McGraw has another project in the works. Entitled ‘Songs of America,’ it focuses on the songs that mapped the history of America. According to Rolling Stone, it is set to be released on the 11th of June in Amazon.
‘Songs of America: Patriotism, Protest, and the Music That Made a Nation’
McGraw teams up with presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer John Meacham. Together, they took a look at some of the country’s most iconic songs through the lens of both the political sphere that produced them and the musicality behind them.
‘Songs of America’ will take a look at songs that were relevant during pivotal points in history, including the American Revolution, the Great Depression, the Civil Rights Movement, and the Vietnam War.
An example is Bruce Springsteen’s classic “Born in the U.S.A.” and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the country’s national anthem.
Both authors will offer their insights into each tune, with Meacham into the political and the historical side of things, and McGraw diving into the musicality of each song. More information about ‘Songs of America’ will be released in the coming days.
McGraw is definitely not new to the political scene. In 2018, McGraw was alongside his wife and fellow country superstar, Faith Hill in joining Michelle Obama’s ‘When We All Vote Campaign.’ The pair appeared alongside other celebrities in a short video that aimed to encourage viewers to register and vote and make their voice heard in every election.
