Family, friends, and thousands of fans are still processing the passing of Olivia Newton-John this week – most especially her husband, John Easterling, who is still struggling to make sense of his beloved wife’s death following a 30-year battle with breast cancer.

In an emotional Instagram post, Easterling shared some of his emotions, describing their marriage and love for each other as one that “transcends our understanding.”

John Easterling and Olivia Newton-John married in 2008, about a year after they first began dating – though they have known each other since the early 1990s. The happy couple secretly had a spiritual ceremony in Peru and held a legal wedding ceremony in Florida shortly after.

Since then, Easterling and Newton-John’s fans have witnessed the strong love they had for each other through social media posts and the various events they have graced.

More importantly, Easterling was one of Newton-John’s biggest support systems after her breast cancer diagnosis. Easterling also joined forces with Newton-John to launch the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund in 2020, with the aim to continuously support the research of plant medicine for cancer.

“Even now as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love and the light that shines forward,” he wrote.

Easterling also took the opportunity to express how grateful he is for the love and support their family has received amidst this difficult time.
