Luke Combs didn’t just announce baby news, he turned it into a country song moment.

On September 23, Luke and Nicole Combs shared with fans that their third child is on the way, due this winter. The reveal came in the form of a short Instagram video that showed the couple handing sonogram photos to their two little boys, Tex, who is three years old, and Beau, who is two years old. The soundtrack was not a radio single but an unreleased ballad called “Days Like These,” and it fit like a glove.

Nicole captioned it simply, “Third time’s a charm! Baby #3 coming this winter.” That one line was enough to set off a flood of cheers from fans and fellow country stars. What really stuck, though, was the raw simplicity of the clip. Two little boys on the couch, wide-eyed over pictures they don’t fully understand yet, while their dad’s voice poured out a love song for family life.

The moment felt even bigger when you remember where Luke and Nicole started. Just last year, Nicole told fans in a Q&A that baby number three wasn’t in the cards anytime soon because the family was still crammed into a two-bedroom house. She even laughed and said, “Maybe once they had more space.” Now reports say the Combs crew has moved into a bigger home, and with that move came the green light for another blessing.

Tex was born on Father’s Day in 2022, which was a storybook arrival. Beau came along in August 2023, two and a half weeks early, while Luke was on tour in Australia. Luke called it “one of the best and one of the worst days of my life at the same time” because he missed the delivery. That pain of being away from his family hit so hard that Luke changed his career pace in 2025, cutting back to mostly festivals so he could stay home more. “I want to be home with my kids. I want to see my kids grow up, and I want them to know that they’re important to me,” he told PEOPLE.

Fatherhood hasn’t just reshaped his schedule, it has poured straight into the music. His 2024 album Fathers & Sons was a collection of ballads about parenthood, with songs like “Plant a Seed,” “Huntin’ By Yourself,” and “The Man He Sees in Me” showing how much raising boys has put steel and softness into his writing. Now with a third child on the way, fans can already guess there is more music waiting to be born alongside this baby.

Nicole has been candid about the chaos of raising little ones so close in age. When Beau was born, she joked about joining the “2 under 2 club.” Going from zero to one kid rocked her world, but she admitted going from one to two was surprisingly easier. And now with number three on the way, she is stepping into new territory all over again.

The reveal video was not flashy. There were no staged fireworks and no TikTok gimmicks. Just family. That is what makes it hit harder. In a genre where authenticity is currency, Luke Combs cashed in big by letting fans peek into his real life, soundtracked by his own unreleased song.

A winter baby is coming. It could be December, or maybe January, or even February. Whenever the newest Combs arrives, one thing is clear. Luke Combs isn’t just singing about life anymore. He is living it three kids deep, with country music’s most honest ballads being written right in his living room.
