After listening to Jake Owen songs, we’re pretty sure that perfection just comes easily for the Vero Beach, Florida native. His performance has always been quick and effortless. You can tell that musical talent clearly comes naturally to him.

Naive but determined, Owen kicked off his musical career performing country covers in campus bars just for a few bucks and, often, a free beer. But his smooth baritone was something no one could ignore.

Eventually, he grew tired of singing songs of others, so he started writing his own songs. His songwriting skills were met with a favorable response which motivated Owen even more to chase after his dreams of becoming a country superstar. As a result, he skipped his remaining college classes and went straight to Music City. And he did just the right thing!

Nearly two decades since his debut, and he’s still going strong. Owen is now one of the hottest and most powerful voices in country music. Without further ado, here’s our favorite hits of Jake Owen.

1. Alone with You

From: Barefoot Blue Jean Night (2011)

“Alone With You” is arguably Owen’s most outstanding song, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. It finds Owen showing his vulnerability, confronting a woman who only flirts with him whenever she’s drinking. It comes with a music video that’s just as steamy as the song.

2. Barefoot Blue Jean Night

From: Barefoot Blue Jean Night (2011)

Owen earned his first No. 1 hit courtesy of “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” a summertime anthem jam-packed with fun lyrics that you can’t help but sing along.

It’s also Owen’s biggest hit to date, certified as double-platinum, and peaked at No. 21 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

3. Startin’ with Me

From: Startin’ with Me (2006)

Owen showcased what a great storyteller he is as he narrates different events in “Startin’ with Me.” The song chronicles a man’s life from the time he pawned his father’s guitar to the time he lost his job, fought with his father, and even ended up sleeping with his “best friend’s baby sister.” It’s amazing how Owen delivers the song with full sincerity.

4. Yee Haw

From: Startin’ with Me (2006)

Released as Owen’s debut single, “Yee Haw” immediately caught the country listeners’ attention that it quickly peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Owen absolutely showed off his full potential in this upbeat party anthem as he highlights the different events at a party in a bar.

5. Eight Second Ride

From: Easy Does It (2009)

There’s a great amount of swagger in this 2009 double-entendre-laden single, which originally appeared on Owen’s debut album and was only released on his sophomore album, Easy Does It. The song became another hit for Owen, peaking at No. 11 on the country chart.

6. Somethin’ Bout A Woman

From: Startin’ with Me (2006)

Co-written by Owen, the tender ballad finds him head over heels in love with a woman that he believes there is nothing else in the world quite like a woman’s love.

7. Beachin’

From: Days of Gold (2013)

What’s not to love about a summery lifestyle jam? Most especially when it’s Owen singing of a gentle and calming time by the sea.

8. Don’t Think I Can’t Love You

From: Easy Does It (2009)

This romantic ballad will surely tug at one’s heartstrings as Owen sings about a man who doesn’t have much to spoil the people he loves with material things. The singer said he co-wrote the song at a time when he had the same internal struggle.

9. Anywhere with You

From: Barefoot Blue Jean Night (2011)

“Anywhere with You” is quite familiar to all of us as it sings about being happy no matter where you are as long as you’re with the special people in your life.

10. Days of Gold

Written by some of the biggest names in Nashville – Ross Copperman, Ashley Gorley, Shane McAnally, and Josh Osborne – “Real Life” has Owen realizing how reality is far from what we usually see on TV.

12. The One That Got Away
