Country singer Jelly Roll and his wife, Bunnie XO, caught wind of a now-deleted video about Kalista, a middle schooler from Christiana Middle School, who was sent home after she drew the couple for a project. Apparently, her teacher didn’t think they were appropriate examples as inspirations, especially because of the singer’s drug addiction past. This happened back in August 2023, and it went viral earlier this year.

Shortly after that, Bunnie showed her support and arranged for a new limited-time merch drop on her Patreon: Kalista’s drawing of her and Jelly Roll on a tee, which was sold for $32, as per TMZ. Her influence and her husband’s immediately drew high-demand for the item, but unfortunately, the Dumb Blonde podcast host had to cut the sale short after an hour. In her Facebook post the following day, she explained that the reason behind the decision was that they received accusations toward Kalista’s mom, Delisa Patrick, saying that she fabricated the story with zero documentation.

To which the host responded by saying, “I too have toxic family so none of what they’ve said has moved me in anyway. And everything the mom has said about the school has been backed by numerous other parents.” Additionally, she went on the record and said that Kalista’s mom never once asked her for money and maintained that this was about her daughter.

Bunnie also emphasized the same thing, expressing that, to her, it was all about giving the young girl a voice. With that, she shared that the proceeds from the shirts that they sold would be put into a trust fund for Kalista.

Prior to the fund-raising, Rutherford County Schools issued a statement regarding the situation and refuted the allegations. In the post, they also asked Bunnie XO to remove her original post about the incident and make a retraction, as the school had been receiving threats and harassment.

The host commented under the post, saying that while they gather the right info, her post will stay. She continued, “I stand with the child who was wrongfully suspended. Someone needs to be the voice for children & if that makes me the bad person. So be it.”

Fox17 WZTV Nashville reported that Patrick called for respect toward the school and that she does not condone any type of threats or violence.
