We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Alan Jackson will no longer be performing at this year’s CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee. The Country Music Association revealed the heartbreaking news just a few days prior to the star-studded nightly concerts kickoff.
The “Remember When” singer was slated to perform at the Nissan Stadium Stage on Saturday (June 11), alongside Carrie Underwood, Luke Combs, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Luke Bryan, Kelsea Ballerini, and more. Brothers Osborne and Old Dominion will now be filling his empty slot.
Meanwhile, no reason was provided for Jackson’s unexpected cancellation. It is also unclear if he dropped out for health-related reasons, but if you could recall, Jackson recently revealed his battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a degenerative nerve condition that’s been impacting his ability to perform.
The country star added that he inherited the neurological disease from his father, and it has been affecting him for many years. While it’s not life-threatening, Jackson has a little trouble balancing, and he finds himself often stumbling around.

“Sorry I won’t be at CMA Fest in Nashville this weekend, but I’ll see you on the road this summer and fall starting at the end of the month,” the country superstar said.
Jackson is about to embark on his final tour, Alan Jackson’s Last Call: One More for the Road Tour – where he will visit 30 cities across the United States. The tour will kick off on June 24 at Biloxi, Mississippi.
