However, poor health became a hindrance for him to continue serving in the church, so he decided to open an insurance office in Vineland, New Jersey.

The life of Chisholm was jeopardized by his illness all throughout his adult life. Yet, his faith in God never wavered; thus, he wrote hundreds of poems and came across Lamentations 3:22-23, which is the inspiration for this emotional hymn.
