It’s been announced and it’s official. The CMA Country Christmas Special is about to get even lovelier as Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren Akins get to co-hosts its 11th annual edition.

While it’s impossible to do the shows live, it seems like these two will be watching the special with us as they already wrapped up the recording sessions of the show and will be set to air on ABC Channel on November 30, 8 PM CT.

Feelin’ the Christmas Spirit

The couple took every opportunity to invite people to watch the CMA Country Christmas Special. In their recent interview with Good Morning America on November 11, they expressed their excitement stating how they could not wait to feel the Christmas spirit steadily approaching with them. Thomas Rhett even used his personal Twitter account to promote and announce #CMAchristmas and how they plan to kick it off just before November ends.

Lauren Akins added how 2020 itself really affected everyone. She wanted to mitigate these negative emotions by giving everyone something to celebrate and to look forward to. As a cherry on top, she encourages everyone to start decorating for Christmas just like she did.

Soon to Take the Stage

For the 11 years that CMA started their annual Christmas Special, varieties of country icons have taken the microphone to lay out the event. Thomas Rhett and Lauren had a lot of stakes in their shoulders as they succeeded Trishia Yearwood in 2019, Reba McEntire from 2017-2018 and the pioneer host Jennifer Nettles who hosted the event since 2010 up until 2016. As an extra challenge, they have to do things virtually, so they have to be more entertaining and more enthusiastic in order to catch their viewer’s attention.

CMA, as usual, loves to wrap surprises. They revealed no clues for the upcoming lineup for the CMA Country Christmas Special. All we know is that in 2019, their event turned out as a great success through the performances of Trisha Yearwood, Dierks Bentley, Kristin Chenoweth, for King & Country, Chris Janson, Tori Kelly, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, Runaway June, CeCe Winans, Brett Young, and Chris Young.

Cheers to the Country Music industry for not failing to provide astounding performances from resilient artists no matter how hard things get! Once again, consider tuning on ABC Channel on November 30, 8 PM, CT to add in a little ounce of joy to our months that have been filled with much dread.
