It has been 19 years since the most unimaginable day happened. On September 11, 2001, two passenger planes crashed straight into the two World Trade Center Towers in New York while another hijacked plane went straight for the Pentagon in Virginia. Fortunately, a fourth plane that was about to hit another target was saved as crew members fought to win the control over the plane and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania.

#NeverForget What Happened on September 11

Who would forget the painful scene we all saw on September 11? Bodies and debris scattered all over Manhattan, New York losing almost 3000 lives in a single day. Each one has a special way of giving tribute, and here’s how some country stars remember all the lives that were lost on that day.

Country star George Strait wrote a tribute honoring the men and women who were affected and devastated by the attacks that happened on September 11. The country music legend added that he tips his hat off for all the first responders that placed their lives at risk during that day just to save their fellow citizens. Strait also linked his performance of “Where Were You” back in 2008.

Rising Star Carly Pearce also expressed her sympathy to the families who were affected by the tragedy and supported the trend #neverforget in honor of the 3000 lives lost.

Country star Jason Aldean posted in his socials how remembering the unfortunate events on that day makes him feel “sick in his stomach.”

Trisha Yearwood especially remembered all the lives that were lost and all the brave souls that were on board on flight 93 who forced the plane to the ground to avoid another collision with an unknown populated building.

Kristian Bush was reflective about life, reminding everyone of the uncertainties of life and encourages us to be grateful for every second we live in our lives.

Other country artists like Stephanie Quayle, Josh Abbott, Easton Carbin, Cassadee Pope, and Chris Young also remembered September 11 by following the trend #Never Forget.

In addition to country stars remembering September 11, here are some of the country songs that were written over the years in commemoration of it.

  1. Charlie Daniels Band: “This Ain’t No Rag, It’s a Flag”
  2. Alan Jackson: “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)”
  3. Darryl Worley: “Have You Forgotten?”
  4. Aaron Tippin: “Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Fly”
