As a parent, if you have raised your child respectful and well-disciplined, then you must be proud. A child’s greatest blessing is to have a thoughtful and understanding parent. As a child, seeing our parents suffer will literally break our hearts, especially if we also see them cry. In line with this is Elvis Presley’s song “Don’t Cry Daddy.” Do you know anything about this song?

Lyrics Breakdown

Don’t cry, daddy
Daddy, please don’t cry
Daddy, you’ve still got me and little Tommy
And together we’ll find a brand new mommy
Daddy, daddy, please laugh again
Daddy, ride us on your back again
Oh, daddy, please, don’t cry

“Don’t Cry Daddy” from its title alone, we can already have an idea what the song talks about. It talks about a family without a mother. The reason for the mother/wife’s absence is not indicated in this song. However, the burden felt by the father was illustrated on this track.

The children feel the pain inside of their father and what they did is to beg their father to stop crying. One of the children insists that they will find a new mother and invite his father to play with them as they did before.
